This technology enables high speed integrated optical interconnects between multiple semiconductor dies. The invention allows arbitrary routing of the optical interconnect between and through several nodes of the optical multi-chip module. This is critical for functionality, since in any module with more than two dies in it would require routing between and through all other dies for maximum flexibility and connectivity.
